Symantec offering former members of MobileMe 50GB of free storage

Symantec's Norton Zone, a personal cloud storage service, has announced that former MobileMe members can acquire 50GB of bonus storage upon signing up for its free 5GB account. Norton Zone allows users to share folders with any person they wish, who in turn can edit and share their content. Symantec's offer follows Apple's announcement regarding the discontinuation of 20GB of bonus iCloud storage, which was originally offered to members upon the dissolution of MobileMe. The 20GB of iCloud storage is being reduced to 5GB of free storage space by September 30, 2013, with a fee instatement of $20 per 10GB. Users can obtain the additional storage by forwarding the notification from iCloud regarding the discontinuation to nortonzone@symantec.com, also including the email used for one's Norton account, and an activation key URL will be sent out in October.
