Fingerprint sensor shown on back of HTC One Max

More images of the rumored HTC One Max have surfaced, via a filing at the equivalent of the FCC in China. Photographs of the device at the Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center MIIT give clear views of the front, back, and sides of the device, complete with what is believed to be a fingerprint scanner on the rear.

The scanner, appearing underneath the 4MP UltraPixel camera, is likely to serve a similar purpose to the one found on the iPhone 5s, in providing extra security. The images found by at least suggest that the scanner will be on the Asia-specific version at least, but it could also end up shipping with the feature to other markets.

Aside from the fingerprint reader, the HTC One Max is rumored to have a 5.9-inch 1080p display, a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a 3,300mAh battery. It is said by sources of Pocketnow that HTC will be announcing the HTC One Max on the 15th of October, with it available shortly after the reveal.
