Translucent Quick View case, Rubberdium stylus added to LG Vu 3

LG has launched a new addition to its Optimus Vu smartphone range, one which uses a 4:3 aspect ratio display. The LG Vu 3 retains almost the same screen dimensions of its predecessor, as previously rumored, with a 5.2-inch 1,280x960 IPS display and the addition of a Rubberdium stylus bringing it closer to being competition for the Samsung Galaxy Note range.

Running on Android 4.2.2, it uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor running at 2.26GHz with 2GB of RAM, reports FoneArena. On the back is a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash, cellular connectivity extends to the 150Mbps LTE-Advanced, and Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS are also included. An optional Quick View translucent case shows some notifications to the user through the front cover while protecting the screen, its Notebook app uses the stylus with eight drawing tools, and a Knock On mode wakes the Vu 3 with a double screen tap.

The LG Vu 3 will shipping in South Korea from September 27th on the three major carriers though pricing has yet to be revealed. Though the Vu has been released further afield in the past, it is possible that this will remain a domestic release.
