11-inch 2013 MacBook Air arrives at Apple's online refurb store

updated 09:23 am EDT, Thu September 19, 2013

Prices drop as low as $849

Apple has started selling the 11-inch version of the 2013 MacBook Air in its refurb store. That brings the cost of the notebook down to as little as $849 for a configuration with a 128GB SSD; the same system would normally cost $999. Upgrading to a 256GB SSD raises the cost of a refurb to $1,019, which is still $180 less than retail.

Refurbished units come with new batteries, outer shells, and one-year warranties. Apple has yet to start selling refurbished 13-inch models of the latest Air, which may potentially speak to the computer's popularity. Typically, products don't start appearing in Apple's refurb store until their sales diminish.
