Apple updates OS X Server for Mountain Lion

updated 02:02 pm EDT, Tue September 17, 2013

Gets support for bonded and virtual network interfaces

Apple has issued a rare update for OS X Server, an add-on for Mountain Lion. The v2.2.2 release enables use of bonded or virtual network interfaces. Otherwise the update concentrates mainly on bugfixes, for instance dealing with administering Profile Manager from the iPad mini. It also copes with SSL errors during setup, and difficulty upgrading from Lion Server.

Other changes are mentioned in the release notes, but these date back to December 2012. Version 2.2.2 could be the last update of Server for Mountain Lion; Apple is on the verge of releasing OS X Mavericks, and will presumably concentrate on developing Server for the new platform. The current software costs $20 at the Mac App Store and requires OS X 10.8.5.
