Apple already at work on fixing, adding to iOS 7
References to iOS 7.0.1, 7.0.2, 7.1, and 8 are already showing up in the tracking logs of some websites, according to reports. Some of the v7.0.1 and v7.1 hits date back to early August, but v7.0.2 is a more recent phenomenon, having manifested shortly after last week's Apple press event. iOS 8 surfaced at the end of August. In all cases, the hits are believed to stem from IPs associated with Apple.
Apple is only due to release iOS 7 on September 18th. By August, though, the company may have realized that some features and bugfixes wouldn't be ready in a month's time, and forked off some of its team to work on later updates. It's unclear what those might contain, although Apple is thought to be working on Maps improvements, and full integration of iOS in the Car.
