Retail stores opening early to accommodate rush
On September 20, iPhone 5s orders will begin at 12:01AM Pacific time at the Apple online store, the company has announced. People wanting to receive device the same day, however, will have to line up in front of a retail outlet. In the case of Apple, its own outlets will be opening early, at 8AM local time.
The absence of preorders for the 5s could cause a crush both at retail and online. Some analysts have speculated that Apple simply doesn't have enough units to meet demand, especially since China will be a first-tier launch country this time around. It's claimed that Apple may be having trouble producing the Touch ID sensor fundamental to the 5s design.
