Gigabyte has updated its diminutive Brix Ultra Compact PC kits with the Intel's fourth-generation Core-series chips. The Brix is available in four models, each offering faster performance, and improved integrated graphics performance. The upgrade Brix PCs now also support 4K Ultra HD output, and sport a new front SPDIF jack and expanded USB 3.0 connectivity.

Additional connectivity includes a Mini DisplayPort and an HDMI port on the rear panel coupled with the ability to support simultaneous dual displays. There are now also four USB 3.0 ports included, two for the front and two on the rear. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.0.

Of the four models, the high-end (GB-BXi7-4500) sports an Intel Core i7 clocked at 1.8GHz, the first of the mid-range models (GB-BXi5-4200) utilizes an Intel Core i5 clocked at 1.6GHz, the second (GB-BXi3-4010) uses a Core i3 chip clocked at 1.7GHz, while the entry-level model integrates an Intel Celeron chip clocked at 1.4GHz.

The revamped Gigabyte Brix models will ship from December with prices ranging from $499 to $599.
