Tegra 4, 1080p display, white color options touted in Surface 2

More details for the upcoming refresh of the Microsoft Surface have appeared, with reports suggesting it to have a 1080p display. The new specification rumors come at the same time as Microsoft starts issuing invitations to members of the media for a Surface-related event on September 23 in New York City, likely for the launch of the Surface 2.

The Surface RT 2 will be powered by a Tegra 4 processor, according to WinSuperSite, something which was hinted at in other reports in early August. It will also have a two-step style kickstand. Using a 10.6-inch ClearType display, it will have a weight of 1.5 pounds, 0.37 inches for a thickness, a battery that will last for up to eight hours, microSD card expansion, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, and front and rear cameras. Windows RT 8.1 will be pre-installed, along with Office Home & Student 2013 RT, and there will also be a white color option.

Earlier rumors suggest that Microsoft will be bringing out a docking station with more USB ports, Ethernet, and mini DisplayPort for video-out, and a version of the TypeCover with a built-in rechargeable battery, extending battery life further.
