Banners use same motif as press invitation
Apple has decorated the Town Hall auditorium at its Cupertino headquarters in preparation for tomorrow's iPhone event, reports say. Banners on the outside use the same colored polka-dot theme found in invitations to the press. The event, which MacNN will cover live, is slated to begin at 10AM Pacific time, or 1 PM Eastern.
The colors may relate mainly to iOS 7, which is switching to a radically different look with translucent panels and "flat," brightly-colored icons. They may also be referring to the iPhone 5C, however, which will be one of the first iPhones to ship in more than just black or white. Even the next flagship iPhone -- the 5S -- is expected to get a gold option to compliment usual black or white tones.
Some observers have speculated that the blank "rings" in the event art are a reference to leaked iPhone home buttons with similar gray-colored rings around them. The rings may signify that an iPhone has a fingerprint sensor, based on technology Apple acquired when it bought out AuthenTec last year.
