1080p screen, 13-megapixel rear, 5-megapixel front cameras

Lenovo is looking towards shipping a new premium smartphone in October, adding to its existing mobile device range. The Vibe X has a five-inch "20/20 Vision" IPS display with a resolution of 1920x1080 and a pixel density of 440PPI, protected by Gorilla Glass 3, packed into a polycarbonate body measuring just 6.9mm (0.27 inches) thick.

Inside the 121-gram (4.2 ounces) "fabric-like" body is a quad-core 1.5GHz processor with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a 2,000mAh battery. On the back is a 13-megapixel autofocus camera with BSI sensor and LED flash, while on the front is a five-megapixel version with a wide-angle 84-degree lens, complete with a facial enhancement image editing app. A "full-featured" photo app is also included for tagging and organizing images or folders, with photos able to be turned into puzzles or used to customize some included games.

While Lenovo has plans to sell smartphones to the United States and Europe within the next year, the Vibe X will not be entering those markets, but will be available in China from October for an undisclosed price, and in other Lenovo smartphone countries from the beginning of December.

At the same time as announcing the new device, Lenovo has revealed it has updated its K900 smartphone to offer versions in black or orange, and for a choice of 16GB or 32GB of storage. It is available with the new options in China right now, and will spread to other countries later this year.
