Expected to feature iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C
As anticipated, Apple has sent out invitations for a press event to be held September 10th at the company's Cupertino headquarters. The event will start at 10AM Pacific time, but beyond that, no other details have been revealed. "This should brighten everyone's day," the invitation's slogan reads.
Despite Apple's usual silence, the company is generally expected to reveal two new iPhones: a high-end iPhone 5S, and a mid-tier iPhone 5C. The 5S is predicted to get features like a faster processor, a fingerprint sensor, and a better camera with a dual-LED flash. The 5C is typically seen as a repackaged iPhone 5, but cheaper, thanks not only to the generational shift but a switch to a plastic back.
Apple may also be planning to refresh its Mac lineup and the AirPort Express. Both need to be enhanced with 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and computers like the iMac have yet to make the transition to Intel's Haswell platform.
