BlackBerry accidentally leaks iPhone, Android BBM app launch site

updated 02:12 pm EDT, Fri August 30, 2013

Website wording suggests iPad BBM app could be delayed

BlackBerry could be extremely close to launching BlackBerry Messenger on Android and iOS, based on an accidental leak. A landing page declaring "BBM for Android and iPhone is here" was visible for a brief period of time yesterday, shortly before the phone manufacturer realized its mistake and pulled the pages from view.

The landing pages spotted by CrackBerry advises new BBM users basic details about the service, including what a BlackBerry Pin is. It is noted that, since the text on view in the page mentions the iPhone, it does not appear to do so for the iPad, suggesting that one for the larger iOS display may not be on the way at first.

BlackBerry Messenger is expected to launch sometime in the near future, though an exact release date has yet to be revealed. The sudden appearance of the launch pages hints that it could be sooner rather than later, possibly even next month.
