EspressOn devices said to launch at same time as Honami smartphone

Sony may have decided upon a product name for its pair of lens camera devices, according to a new rumor. The DSC-QX100 and the DSC-QX10, camera units contained inside a camera lens and designed to wirelessly connect with a smartphone, will allegedly be named "EspressOn" when the two devices are launched.

Sources of BGR revealed the apparent name for the attachments, which are meant to replace the existing camera in a smartphone with a higher-megapixel sensor and better lenses. The QX100 will, according to earlier leaks, have a 1-inch, 20.2-megapixel Exmor R sensor with a 2/1.8 Carl Zeiss lens, with the QX10 sporting an 18-megapixel CMOS sensor with 10x zoom. Both would connect over Wi-Fi and NFC to an Android or iOS device running a specific app, with the smartphone acting as the viewfinder and providing extra camera controls.

It is expected that Sony will reveal the EspressOn lens cameras on September 4th at IFA, at the same time as it's forthcoming Xperia Z1 "Honami" smartphone.
