Galaxy Note III ramping up video, audio capabilities

Samsung's forthcoming Galaxy Note III is tipped to offer 4K Ultra HD (3840x2160) video shooting capabilities, matching the expectation for Sony's forthcoming Xperia Z1 Honami. The two devices are expected to be revealed next week, just ahead of IFA Berlin, as both Samsung and Sony begin the push to drive consumer adoption of their respective Ultra HD flat panel televisions. The Galaxy Note III is also expected to support 24-bit/192KHz audio playback, which is a capability recently debuted by LG on its new G2 flagship.

Apart from the LG G2, smartphones are typically limited to 16-bit audio playback, and the move to 24-bit capabilities among high-end smartphones will please music fans, particularly those who listen to music in lossless digital formats like FLAC. The Galaxy Note III will be able to offer the capabilities in either of its two variants, which will incorporate either the Snapdragon 800 or Exynos 5440 Octa chipsets depending on market. The inclusion of the new cutting edge features in the Galaxy Note III continues Samsung's trend of packing as many capabilities into its mobile devices as possible. [via Sammobile]
