updated 10:03 am EDT, Mon August 26, 2013

Tablet pricing expected to match iPad

A fresh leak surrounding Nokia's rumored Windows RT tablet has surfaced, detailing launch plans and likely pricing. Unnamed sources have told The Verge the 10.1-inch tablet is being developed under the monicker "Sirius" and is scheduled to be revealed at a launch event in New York on September 26. The company is allegedly planning to mimic Apple's iPad pricing as the device first arrives on the market.

Previous leaks show a bright red housing that resembles the design of Nokia's Lumia-series smartphones, while the overall build is said to be thinner than the iPad and less than one pound. The 10.1-inch display will reportedly offer 1920x1080 resolution and increased brightness for outdoor use.

Microsoft's mobile Windows OS is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor paired with 2GB of RAM. Battery life is claimed to reach 10 hours, with additional battery capacity provided in a keyboard dock that is said to ship with the basic tablet.

The leaked pictures show Verizon LTE branding, suggesting at least one variant will be offered with a carrier subsidy, however Nokia has yet to officially acknowledge any details surrounding the tablet.
