YouTube for iOS gets picture-in-picture, better Chromecast support

New 'Play All' button allows non-stop streaming

Following a related Android release, Google has also updated the iOS version of YouTube with several new features. Among these is a picture-in-picture function, which lets people search for other videos while one runs minimized. To restore or minimize the active video, users simply swipe up or down on it; swiping to the left or right dismisses the clip entirely.

Playlists now have a "Play All" button, which lets users run through an entire collection without having to manually skip to the next video. Chromecast users, meanwhile, will now get a preview screen that gives the option of playing a selected video or queuing it to watch up next.

YouTube 2.0 for iOS requires iOS 6 or later.
