Syfy Now for iOS allows day-after access to episodes of Syfy shows

updated 01:24 pm EDT, Fri August 16, 2013

New title replaces earlier apps

TV network Syfy has launched Syfy Now, a new iOS app. The title replaces two earlier apps with a redesigned interface formatted for both iPhones and iPads. The main addition however is support for watching complete episodes, instead of just clips and behind-the-scenes promotional videos. Episodes are normally only available the day after broadcast, though, with access authentication from a TV provider.

Some benefits of watching with the app include watchlists, and the ability to sync both lists and in-show progress via iCloud. New Twitter and Facebook hooks let users share episode details.

Syfy Now is a free download and runs on any device with iOS 6 or later. A total of 11 cable and satellite providers are supported at the moment, but more are promised in the future, and some episodes can be viewed without authentication.
