Twiiter #music app gets iOS library scanning, other discovery options

updated 04:48 pm EDT, Fri August 9, 2013

App localized for 12 more countries

Twitter has updated its #music iOS app with several new discovery features. Foremost is local library scanning, the results of which are used to suggest relevant artists. Users can now also listen to an artist's top tracks, similar acts, and even the bands that the artist follows on Twitter.

The app has meanwhile gained language localization for a dozen new countries. The list is exclusively Euro-centric, covering Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. #music is a free download, but requires an iPhone or iPod running iOS 6 or later.
