Torchlight 2 Mac development hits snags, release not imminent

The Macintosh port of Runic's dungeon crawler game Torchlight 2 has hit some snags. Responding to a query by gaming website Kotaku, the company states that "we encountered unexpected complexities in porting Torchlight 2 to the Mac, simultaneous with our scramble to ramp up on our next project and get it moving forward. The Mac platform still poses some challenges for us as a company (as anyone who waited for the Mac port of Torchlight can attest). As a result, while we are still pursuing it, we don't have a date or any real details to share on the Mac port of Torchlight 2 just yet. When we do have something to share, though, we'll do so as quickly as possible." The PC version of Torchlight 2 shipped on September 20, 2012.

X3 space combat simulator games on sale at Mac App Store

Sale is over! The X3 space combat simulator series is on temporary sale on the Mac App Store. The X series is often compared to the classic space simulator sandbox game Elite, in that these first-person space adventure games focus on trade and exploration, as well as combat. For a limited time, X3 Terran Conflict, X3 Albion Prelude, and X3 Reunion are all on sale for $1 each.
