Native Vevo app headed to Apple TV

updated 05:07 pm EDT, Thu August 8, 2013

Expected to feature 24/7 stream with TV-formatted ads

Music video company Vevo is at work on a native Apple TV app, according to sources. The people say that the app will feature 24/7 music videos, as on Vevo TV, an existing service for the web and devices like the Xbox 360. The Apple TV app may additionally display ads formatted specifically for televisions.

Apple has been working aggressively to add more Apple TV apps in recent months, for instance picking up HBO Go, Sky News, Crunchyroll, Qello, and WatchESPN. The company is even thought to be working on a Time Warner Cable app, which would let people watch TWC channels without using the interface on their cable box.
