iPad users get Bluetooth printing
Mobile payment service Square has updated the iOS edition of Square Register, its point-of-sale app for retail. The v3.2 release allows businesses to record any sort of payment type, including checks and gift cards. Previously the app was centered around credit card transactions, where Square makes its money.
iPad users have gained a pair of features. The first is cash management, which lets stores reconcile cash drawers. The other is the ability to print receipts through a Bluetooth printer. At the moment, though, the only supported model is the SM-S220i.
Square Register is a free download for devices running iOS 5 or later. The matching Square service costs an ongoing fee tied to transactions.
