Co-op focused title explores new settings
Feral Interactive has announced that a Mac port of The Lord of the Rings: War in the North, originally by Snowblind Studios, will ship for the Mac on August 29th. The game is an action-RPG set in northern Middle-Earth, and chronicles events only hinted at in the novels. Players assume the role of three characters: Eradan the ranger, Andriel the elf, and Farin the dwarf, who together join a separate conflict against Sauron.
Although gamers can play on their own, switching between characters during the story, a focus of the game is on co-operative multiplayer play, which supports two people. As players fight, defeated enemies contribute to upgrades of skills such as melee and magic.
The game will cost $30 as a direct download. Players must have at least a 2GHz Intel Mac, 4GB of RAM, a video card with 512MB of video memory, and OS X 10.7.5.
