Pebble updates iOS app with email notifications

updated 03:55 pm EDT, Thu August 1, 2013

Supports Gmail, other IMAP email services

As promised in July, Pebble has updated the iOS companion app for its smartwatch with email notifications. At the moment, only IMAP email accounts are supported. Gmail logins are handled through Google, while all other accounts require using a special login interface.

Configured accounts are listed on an Email Notifications page in the app. Active ones are shown in blue; tapping on an item will temporarily disable notifications for that address, allowing a user to avoid constant alerts, for instance silencing work emails when off the clock. The Android app already supports email notifications.
