LTE goes live in areas of Florida, Texas, other states

Sprint has expanded the reach of its 4G LTE service into a number of new markets, following on from adding coverage to parts of New York City and revealing its 20,000 Network Vision sites achievement as part of its quarterly report. The extra 41 new markets across the US brings the total Sprint footprint of LTE to 151 markets.

The new Sprint LTE markets are Wausau, Baraboo and Beaver Dam, WI; Laredo, Nacogdoches, Brownsville and Harlingen, TX; Tupelo, Columbus and Greenwood, MS; Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Ocala, Palm Coast, Jacksonville, Homosassa Springs, Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beach, and Daytona Beach, FL; Nashville, Jackson and Dyersburg, TN; Faribault and Northfield, MN; Wilson, Rocky Mount, Fayetteville and Greenville, NC; Springfield, Fitchburg and Leominster, MA; Saginaw, Holland, Flint and Grand Rapids, MI; Kokomo, IN; Philadelphia and Lebanon, PA; Morgan City, LA; Salinas and Oakland, CA; Tulsa and Ponca City, OK; and Portland, OR.

While Sprint has been relatively slow in its LTE build-out when compared to Verizon and AT&T, the addition of 41 markets is a hefty jump in terms of its LTE offering, something which could be improved further with the involvement of SoftBank.
