New images, specifications for Lumix GX7 leak, claim 16MP sensor

updated 07:33 am EDT, Tue July 30, 2013

ISO 25,600, focus peaking, 1080p video recording touted in Lumix GX7

New, clearer images of the Panasonic Lumix GX7 have emerged, according to a new leak, along with a more complete specifications list of the Micro Four Thirds camera. The new shots, showing the front, back, and top of the GX7, shows the full 90-degree movement of the 2.76 million-dot electronic viewfinder, along with a better view of the top control dial and buttons.

The specifications list from Digicame-info states it will have a 16-megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor, and as in the previous leak, mentions the 80-degree tiltable 3-inch LCD with 1.04 million-dot resolution, a fast 1/8000 shutter speed, Wi-Fi, NFC, and a magnesium alloy body. It will also be able to record 1080p video at 60fps, have a maximum sensitivity of ISO 25,600, in-body image stabilization, focus peaking, 22 different creative controls with panorama shots, and a silent mode.

Though no new details relating to a release date or price have emerged, it is believed Panasonic will be shipping the Lumix GX7 in September for 1,000 euro ($1,330) for the body alone.
