Leaked documents may suggest specs for low-cost iPhone

Hints at multiple models

Leaked documents may give a hint of the internal specifications of the low-cost iPhone, sometimes known as the iPhone Lite. Three different codenames are given: Zenvo, Zagato, and Bertone, although the Zagato and Bertone appear to be versions of each other. The Zenvo is said to have a dual-core, 1.23GHz "H5P process" chip manufactured by Samsung, plus 1GB of RAM and Bluetooth 4.0 support. The Zagato and Bertone use chips based on an "H6P process" and are equipped with TDD LTE, suggesting a higher tier, but use the same RAM module as the Zenvo.

The Zenvo is allegedly in mass production, or at least close to that stage. The hardware is said to be going through electronic verification testing, making sure that each part works as intended. The Zagato and Bertone though are still prototypes.

If legitimate, the leak may suggest that Apple plans to sell separate 3G and 4G versions of the Lite. The Zagato/Bertone split might be necessary to accommodate different LTE spectrums, since the bands used for LTE in North America are distinct from those used in much of Europe and some other regions.
