HTC rumored to make larger One Max, new One Mini images emerge

updated 05:29 am EDT, Mon July 15, 2013

HTC One Max claimed to have six-inch 1080p display, 2.3GHz processor

HTC may be moving to release a larger version of its flagship HTC One, as well as a smaller model. A rumor for the One Max suggests that the company may be readying a version of the smartphone with a six-inch display, and is accompanied by new photographs said to show both the front and the back of the HTC One Mini.

Sources of Mobile Geeks claim that the larger HTC One Max will have a 1080p-resolution display, use a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM, offer up to 64GB of storage, and receive power from a 3,200mAh battery. The report also suggests that the One Max will be formally revealed sometime in September, roughly the same time as Samsung is believed to show off the Galaxy Note III, putting the two devices in direct competition with each other.

The images for the HTC One Mini, shown by Android Next, suggests little about the miniature smartphone. The supplied specifications state it will have a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, a four-megapixel Ultrapixel camera on the rear, and a 1.6-megapixel camera on the front. While it is claimed it will have a 720p display, the physical size of the screen itself was not revealed, but the overall length of the device is around 1cm (0.4-inches) shorter than the standard HTC One. While the HTC One Mini has been said in other rumors to be out in August, the company could end up waiting until September in order to reveal both smartphones at the same time.
