LG adds new 55-inch and 65-inch Ultra HD models to US lineup

LG has added 55-inch (55LA9700) and 65-inch (65LA9700) 4K Ultra HD TVs to its US lineup. The new TVs, which feature four times the resolution of Full HD sets, are now on sale and are advertised at $7,000 and $9,000 respectively. It already has an 84-inch (84LM9600) model on sale for $20,000, with new models coming in at a much more attractive price point for early adopters.

A new industrial design language with a slim bezel and aluminum stand marks the new LG Ultra HD TVs. They also include a 4.1 channel 50 Watt sound system with a motorized sound bar that appears below the screen when the TV is turned on. The omnidirectional subwoofer is built into the back of the display adding to the overall in-built sound produced by the new TVs. The 4K panel (3840x2160) utilizes LG's proprietary Nano Full LED array backlighting with IPS technology for color accuracy and wide viewing angles.

The new LG 4K Ultra HD TVs also come with LG's smart TV tech built in and ship with the company's voice-control capable Magic Remote and Cinema 3D mode. Users can access Hulu Plus, Netflix, YouTube and other services directly from the set. Users can also choose from a range of apps including games. They also come with four flicker-free 3D glasses. The new models are shipping now.
