Acer debuts gaming desktop, BestBuy exclusive M5 laptop

Pair of devices optimized for gaming, multimedia

Acer America today announced the US availability of the Acer Predator AG3-605 Series of desktops offering power, performance and audio features for games, movies and more. Also released by Acer today is the Haswell-powered M5 notebook, available exclusively at BestBuy.

The AG3-605 tower offers up to 32GB of DDR2 dual-channer memory, driven by a Haswell fourth-generation Intel Core i7 processor. Storage is provided by up to a 3TB hard drive, or a 120GB SSD. All configurations come with a Nvidia GeForce GTX660 graphics card. Four USB 2.0 and four USB 3.0 ports are available. The computer has a pair of PCI-E x1 slots as well as 3.5-inch and 5.25-inch drive bays.

Less than one inch thin, the new M5-583P also sports a new metal chassis with clean modern lines. In addition to the performance and power management benefits of Intel's fourth-generation Core i5 processor, it includes 8GB of memory, a 500GB hard drive and a PowerSmart long-life 4-cell Lithium Polymer Battery (3560mAh). The M5-583P-6428 includes a 15.6-inch HD 10-point multi-touch display, and four 2W speakers mounted on the front of the system.

The Acer Predator AG3-605 desktop PCs are available at leading retailers with a starting price of $1,000 and up, depending on configuration. The Acer Aspire M5-583P-6428 is available now at Best Buy stores for $700.
