NPR's update supports iOS6 and above

NPR launched Version 2.5 of its iPad app today, offering a new design layout and official compatibility with iOS 6. The app, intended to be browsed as a multi-media magazine, presents news and stories through a combination of audio, text and images. The update includes bug fixes, with major improvements in performance, stability and streaming audio. The graphics displayed throughout the app are now of Retina-resolution quality, and the 'Now Playing' metadata and artwork displays on the lock screen.

Yelp adds in-app online ordering

Yelp, the popular restaurant and business search app, has launched a "Order Pickup or Delivery" button in its latest update, optimizing user's ability to order from restaurants on demand. Released today, the order function is due to be added in the coming weeks, according to its statement its App Store page. Yelp for iPhone and iPad is available for free at the App Store.
