Spotify iOS app updates with Discover, playlist features on iPhone

updated 10:16 am EDT, Tue July 2, 2013

Other editions to be updated 'soon'

Music streaming service Spotify has released a new version of its iOS app, 0.7.1. The update introduces several iPhone/iPod-only features, such as a new Discover mode, which helps find new music to play. The other major additions include a new Now Playing view with an "Up Next" queue, and the ability to edit playlists.

iPhone/iPod users will also see reordered search tabs, a relocated contextual menu button, and fixed Ford integration for non-English languages. Universal bugfixes deal with crashes, unread messages not being updated properly, and "All Tracks" not showing the correct number of tracks. The app is a free download, but access to all features requires a monthly Premium subscription.
