Facebook extends hashtags with related searches, mobile web support

Tech not yet available in native mobile apps

Facebook has extended its recently-launched hashtag feature, reports note. The first addition is the concept of related tags; when clicking on a tag or searching for one, Facebook will now suggest others based on what people are frequently posting at the same time. #equality, for instance, may bring up tags like #pride, #DOMA, or #lgbt.

Hashtags can now also be seen in posts on the mobile Facebook website. Still missing though is their inclusion in the social network's native apps for platforms like Android, iOS, or Windows Phone.
