RSS functionality comes to Digg iOS app

Digg has updated its iOS app, bringing the promised integration of its Google Reader replacement to the iPhone and iPad. Digg first announced that it would be adding an RSS reader to its app a month ago, promising similar functionality to Google Reader along with an API. The app also includes a Google Reader import feature that can automatically import all of a user's feeds and folders directly into the Digg app. Digg is a free download in the App Store and offers support for both the iPhone and iPad.

Reeder's post Google Reader development plans

The developers of Reeder, a popular iOS and Mac RSS client, have announced their plans for moving forward after Google Reader is shut down on July 1. Version 3.2 of Reeder for iPhone has been submitted to Apple and will support Feedbin, Feedly, Feed Wrangler, and Fever as alternatives to Google Reader. In addition, the iPhone client has been made available as a free download.

Finally, the developers have also announced that the iPad and Mac clients will be removed from the App Store on July 1, as adding other services to the current versions is not a simple fix. Instead, they will be reworking both apps and rereleasing them at a later date.
