Huawei Prism II budget smartphone goes on sale through T-Mobile

updated 07:28 am EDT, Thu June 27, 2013

Uses 3.5-inch 480x320 display, Android 4.1

T-Mobile has introduced a new budget smartphone from Huawei to its ranks. The unfortunately-named Prism II builds upon the first Prism release in May last year with an improved specifications list, including a 1GHz single-core processor with 512MB of RAM, and a larger expandable 4GB of internal storage compared to the 2GB in the original.

Running on Android 4.1, the Prism II uses the same 3.5-inch 480x320 display as its predecessor, as well as an identical 3.2-megapixel rear camera. Connectivity is provided by Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and HSPA+ radios, though no LTE access, GPS and options for tethering are also included, while power comes from a 1,750mAh battery.

T-Mobile is selling the Prism II for $116 as a single payment, or alternatively, for $20 up front and 24 payments of $4 under its financing scheme.
