Everpix updates service, iOS apps with improved photo grouping

Cloud-based photograph organization service Everpix has updated its image hosting and sorting platform with improved image analysis. The service, which automatically groups together images from various sources, including mobile devices, computers, and social networks, and groups them by date and time or by the subjects of the photos, has reworked its website and iOS app [App Store] to make it easier for users to discover images.

Photographs can now be grouped by events, a birthday party or family gathering for example, allowing for quicker retrieval of items from a point in the past though the updated Highlights 2.0. Once an event is selected, all images from that period of time that relate to what's happening will show up for viewing.

A new tab for Flashbacks will bring up a selection of photographs from past events, with the added option of having daily or weekly e-mails sent to the account owner with similar assorted images. Everpix pitches Flashbacks as a way for users to "rediscover and instantly remember" things that happened in the past, providing a visual hint for memories to resurface from.

Everpix has a free option that provides hosting for the last 12 months of photographs, with a premium account costing $5 per month or $49 per year.
