Digital Storm ships Aventum II $9,500 liquid-cooled gaming system

updated 07:56 pm EDT, Wed June 26, 2013

New machine handcrafted, with details inspired by automotive finish

Digital Storm has released the extremely high-end Aventum II custom gaming system, a machine that the company calls "as much a work of art as it is a finely tuned piece of technology." Built exclusively from handcrafted steel and nickel-plated copper, Digital Storm did not use any plastic in the construction of the premium computer. Configurations include liquid-cooled overclocked Intel Core i7EE processors and the Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan graphics card.

The system is equipped with the 3970x six-core i7 Extreme edition, clocked at 3.5GHz by default, but overclocked to between 4.5 and 4.9GHz. A set of three SLI Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan are installed. Storage is provided by a 1TB hard drive, boosted by a 240GB SSD. The motherboard is an Asus Rampage IV Extreme X79, with 16GB of DDR3 1866MHz RAM.

Prior to shipping to the customer, each Digital Storm system undergoes a 72-Hour Stress-Test. Digital Storm technicians stress-test and benchmark the system with industry-standard testing software, coupled with a testing process that detects components which can be prone to future failure. Configurations begin at $9,500.
