Brazilian model ships almost eight months after US debut
The iPad mini will ship to Brazil on June 25th, local retailers FNAC and Saraiva have announced. No other details have been revealed, such as prices or cellular carriers. The launch will take place nearly eight months after the tablet first went on sale in countries like the US.
Brazilian iPad minis could conceivably be assembled domestically at Foxconn's local factory. Some Apple products are already manufactured there, but the company tends not to publicize where its products are built, even in cases where it helps local economies.
