PhotoForge 2 developer GhostBird snapped up by Yahoo for Flickr

updated 06:15 pm EDT, Wed June 12, 2013

iOS versions of the developers apps no longer available

PhotoForge 2 developer GhostBird Software has announced that it is joining Yahoo's Flickr team. The company will be bringing its entire team and intellectual property involved with iOS apps KitCam and PhotoForge 2 to the rejuvenated photo storage locker. Effective immediately, users who purchased the apps from the iOS app store will no longer be able to re-download the apps.

The two photo manipulation apps from Ghostbird will not be updated for iOS past the current versions. As of today, they are also no longer available on the iOS App Store. The technology is expected to be implemented in Yahoo's offering before the end of the year.

Terms of the deal weren't immediately available.

Wow! Flickr's certainly doing its utmost to make up for the time it lost at the advent of the mobile cloud revolution.

Whatever next for the Mayer-led Yahoo?
