Announcement confirms details spotted in FCC LTE filing

AT&T has confirmed it will carry the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 on its network. Last seen passing through the FCC with support for the same LTE bands that AT&T uses, the tablet will work on the carrier's 4G LTE network, and brings along the same 1280x800 eight-inch display that Electronista tried out at Mobile World Congress in February.

The Galaxy Note 8.0 is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, and runs on Android 4.1. Weighing in at 12 ounces, it has a rear five-megapixel camera, a 1.3-megapixel front camera, 16GB of storage expandable by up to 32GB via a microSD card, which is also supplemented by 50GB of free cloud storage on AT&T Locker. Supplied with the S Pen, the Note 8.0 has a new Reading Mode that manages the illumination and tone of the display, and allows for hand-written annotations.

While the 4G LTE version of the Galaxy Note 8.0 is said by AT&T to go on sale as an exclusive device in the coming weeks, a potential price for the device has not been provided. It is likely to cost more than the Wi-Fi version, which is currently priced at around $400.
