Samsung unveils Galaxy Ace 3 with 4-inch 480x800 display, LTE options

Budget smartphone provides 5MP camera, Samsung apps

Samsung has added another budget-ranged smartphone to its catalog of Galaxy devices. The Galaxy Ace 3 builds upon its predecessor by combining various features found in the Galaxy S4 into a lower-specification mobile phone, though variants with and without LTE connectivity oddly have different base specifications.

The 3G version is supplied with a 1GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of built-in storage, while the devices with LTE will benefit from having a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and 8GB of storage expandable by up to 64GB. Both versions will have a 4-inch 480x800 TFT LCD display, a rear 5-megapixel camera with Sound & Shot and Best Photo modes, a front-facing VGA camera, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, and USB 2.0 connectivity, though the LTE model will also have a larger 1,800mAh battery compared to the 3G model's 1,500mAh version, and there will also be a dual-sim option as well.

Aside from the usual Google app and service suite, the Galaxy Ace 3 will have S Translator, S Travel, S Voice, ChatON, and the Samsung Hub pre-installed, on top of Android 4.2 and Samsung's TouchWiz overlay.

Samsung did not reveal prices or release dates for the two Galaxy Ace 3 versions, more details are expected to be revealed at its London event later this month.
