Facebook to no longer sync friends without useful contact info to iOS Contacts
9to5Mac.com reported yesterday that Facebook is trying to 'declutter' the iOS contacts app by no longer syncing friends that have no useful contact information. Users have observed missing contacts as being a bug, however the move is an intentional endeavour to improve the relevancy of imported contacts. A Facebook spokesperson stated that friends with no contact information other than a Facebook e-mail will not be synced to the Contacts address book from now on. These contacts can be added manually as desired.
HP MagCloud update brings support for paid publications
HP has released the next major version of its MagCloud digital publication service for the iPad. HP MagCloud, of HP Labs, is a web service that enables anyone to self-publish and distribute content either digitally or in print, without a minimum order or cost barrier. Version 4.0 expands the catalogue of publications with new paid content. Supported by Apple's In-App Purchasing protocol, paid publications join alongside the existing free issues and allow publishers to begin making money on the content they release. The update also allows users to sign-up for a MagCloud account, however this is not required as guest options are available within the app. Other changes include an improved interface, better performance, and a variety of bug fixes.
