TWC gives same access as iOS, Android users to web interface streamers

updated 08:12 pm EDT, Wed June 5, 2013

Limits apply to out of home use, fewer channels, less on-demand programming

An update today by Time Warner Cable to its web portal has enabled the site's users and cable subscribers to access select On Demand and live TV channels from any Internet connection, not just the users' homes. The new utility is now parallel to the recent TWC TV app on the iOS and Android, and is available to both Mac and PC users.

Some limits still apply. Live channels are limited to 11, with 26 more offering on-demand programming from the pool of over 300 live networks and 4,000 on-demand titles on in-home use of the service. Use of the service requires one-time activation, and a subscription to Time Warner Cable. Channels not subscribed to by the root account are unable to be accessed by either the app, or the web interface.
