New Dell XPS 11 convertible on view at Computex

New transformable features Haswell i5, Thunderbolt

Amidst a slew of other Haswell-related releases, Dell has debuted the XPS 11 convertible laptop/tablet at Taiwan's Computex today. The 11.6-inch laptop is constructed from a carbon fiber weave and machined aluminum, and features a pivoting display which folds down in not in use, to a 15mm thick fourth-generation Intel Core i5 tablet.

The display runs at 2560x1440, and is driven by the HD 4400 chipset integral to the Haswell i5. The device's physical keyboard is disabled as the screen crosses 180 degrees from front-facing, preventing inadvertent input while handling the machine's transformation. Also onboard is a pair of USB 3.0 ports, a single Thunderbolt port, a SD card reader, and an active stylus. Battery runtime, RAM, and storage has not been revealed.

The device has not been dated or priced, beyond the "2013 holiday season."
