Apple updates Camera Raw to 4.06, adds support for 13 new cameras

Update available for Aperture 3.x and iPhoto '11 in Mountain Lion

On Thursday, Apple updated its Digital Camera RAW Compatibility file to version 4.06, adding support for 13 new cameras. The update is only for users of Aperture 3.x or iPhoto '11 (any version) running either 10.7.5 (OS X Lion) or 10.8.2 (OS X Mountain Lion) or higher. The update adds three Canon EOS models, four Nikon models, the Hasselblad Lunar and the Sony Alpha NEX-3N. The update is automatically available through Software Update, and can also be downloaded direction from Apple's Support Downloads page.

Added in the update is support for the Canon EOS-1D C, EOS Rebel SL1/100D/Kiss X7, and EOS Rebel T5i/700D/Kiss X7i. Nikon models added in the new version include the Nikon CoolPix A, D7100, Nikon 1 J3 and Nikon 1 S1. A list of all the supported camera models added in previous versions can be found here. The update weighs in at just over 6MB.
