Standard version priced at $2,849, including material cartridges
BotObjects, the creators of the ProDesk3D printer, has opened it up for pre-orders. Billed as the world's first full-color 3D desktop printer, the ProDesk3D is going on sale in two different versions, one in orange and a limited edition version with blue coloring and extra equipment, with the first shipments due to be sent by the first of October.
The redesigned company website has also been updated to show off items printed off the ProDesk3D. It has a build platform capable of creating 300x275x275mm objects (11.8x10.8x10.8 inches) at a resolution as high as 25 microns per layer, and to demonstrate this, it has been used to print multicolored instruments, a robot, and a vase.
The standard edition, with orange trim and window, will cost $2,849 with a $400 discount for an early order, and is supplied with one starter 5-color cartridge set and 1 support material cartridge. The blue version will cost $3,349, also discounted, and will come with triple the amount of cartridges. Extra cartridges will cost $49.95 per set.
