BlinkFeed, BoomSound, video highlights transfer to new Desire

HTC is continuing to develop for its Desire range of devices, and has introduced the Desire 600. The mid-range device inherits a number of features found in the HTC One, including the BlinkFeed news and social feed on the homescreen, 30-second video highlights generated from images taken during an event, as well the BoomSound audio processing and speakers.

Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor running at 1.2GHz and supported by 1GB of RAM, a 4.5-inch super LCD2 display with a resolution of 960x540, and dual SIM card slots that can both be active at the same time. On the back is an 8-megapixel camera with an LED flash and the ability to record 720p video, which is paired with a front-facing 1.6-megapixel camera.

While it includes connectivity over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, dual-band HSPA and tri-band GSM/EDGE, it will not include access to LTE networks. NFC, GPS, AGPS, and GLONASS is also included, along with 8GB of storage expandable by microSD, and a 1,860mAh removable battery.

The Desire 600 will go on sale in Russia, the Ukraine, and the Middle-East in early June, with options for black or white casings. Neither details of a wider European or US release, nor pricing, was disclosed.
