Apple picks unusual Friday debut
Apple will finally open its first Berlin Apple Store on May 3 at 5 PM local time, according to the company's website. The timing of the Kurfürstendamm launch is unusual, as Apple normally prefers to host openings on Saturday mornings. Between May 3 and 5, the store will also be operating at unusual hours: on the 3rd and 4th it will be open until 10 PM, and on the 5th it will operate between 1 PM and 6 PM. The store's normal hours have it closing at 8 PM Monday through Saturday, and staying shut completely on Sundays.
The location has been in development for years, in part likely because of its size, since it will be the biggest Apple Store in Germany once it debuts. In the meantime, Apple has built stores in cities across the country, including even two in Hamburg. The Kurfürstendamm shop will be Apple's 11th in Germany overall.
