Taiwanese PC maker Inhon claims title of thinnest, lightest notebook

Taiwanese manufacturer Inhon has unveiled the carbon fiber Blade 13 Carbon, reports Engadget. The company claims that it is the world's thinnest and lightest notebook weighing just 870 grams and measuring only 10.7mm thick. As a point of comparison, Apple's 13-inch aluminum MacBook Air, once the benchmark for ultraportables, weighs 1.35kg and measures 17mm at its thickest point.

Inhon will be shipping the Windows 8 ultrabook in a number of configurations and gives users the option of an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 low-voltage chips. Its 13-inch display has a 1080p resolution, with storage pegged at 128GB or 256GB SSDs. RAM is apparently limited to 4GB. It will retail in Taiwan for the equivalent of $1350 when it starts shipping in June. A cheaper alternative version with a fiberglasss body and a slightly lower resolution display will also ship at the same time.

Unfortunately for users in the states, there is no sign that the Inhon Blade 13 Carbon will reach the North American market, at least officially.
