Delayed HTC One ships online, some stores face delays

The HTC One has gone on sale in the United States today, launching on Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T at the same time. The three carriers are offering the flagship smartphone through their online stores, though in some cases, brick and mortar retail outlets are left waiting until next week to start selling the device.

T-Mobile is stocking the HTC One for $100 upfront followed by 24 monthly payments of $20, as per its UnCarrier initiative, or $580 in one payment. Customers ordering through their website will receive their devices before the T-Mobile stores, with the street date for retail being April 24th. Sprint also offers the phone at $100 as part of a two-year contract, or $550 on its own. AT&T, the only one to offer both the 32GB and 64GB versions, for $200 and $300 respectively, as part of a two year contract. Off-contract, AT&T sell the 32GB model for $600, and the 64GB version for $650.

Since its reveal, the HTC One has been found to be extremely unrepairable after being taken apart by iFixit, while its delays have reportedly cost the company profits. The company hopes to make up for this, by promoting the phone through its Live Experience Tour in the US.
